First revealed as a concept at the 1993 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Chrysler Prowler made headlines by reaching production with remarkably few changes from its original show car form. At a time when most concept cars never made it beyond the motor show circuit, Chrysler delivered something genuinely bold and distinctive.

While heavily inspired by traditional American hot rods, the Prowler was far more than a styling exercise. Developed as a showcase for Chrysler’s engineering capabilities, it made extensive use of aluminium throughout its construction, including the chassis, suspension components and body panels, resulting in a lightweight and technically interesting package.

For the 1999 model year, the Prowler received a significant mechanical update with the introduction of the later 3.5-litre 24-valve all-aluminium V6, producing 253bhp — a notable increase over earlier examples. Power is delivered through a four-speed automatic transmission.

Showing just over 25,000 miles, this example is offered as a straightforward recommissioning project. Production concluded in 2002, with the Prowler now firmly established as one of the most distinctive and collectible American performance cars of its era, supported by a strong enthusiast following.
