The ultimate pin-up Supercar

Even though it’s more than 45 years since the Countach design study first made its debut and with a whole raft of supercars appearing in the meantime, nothing has dulled the impact of perhaps the most astonishing car design ever.

The legendary Miura was always going to be a hard act to follow, so the extent to which its successor eclipsed the greatest of 1960s supercars came as something of a shock to all. The sensation of the 1971 Geneva Salon, the Countach was styled, like its predecessor, by Bertone’s Marcello Gandini. A production version would not be seen for another two years, with deliveries commencing in 1974.

That production version would truly define the supercar and Lamborghini’s for years to come, with the wedge design and the now commonplace styling with a short front and long rear which is typical of all mid-engined supercars today. It was and remains the absolute essence of the 1980s Supercar and is still what most would think of when you told them to think of a Lamborghini or just a supercar in general.

One of just 610 5000 QVs ever built, the car we are honoured to present you today is one of the best examples available anywhere. Not often does a Countach come for sale with just 11,430 km from new, an astonishing time-warp car guaranteed to complete the dreams of everyone who had a Countach poster in pride of place on their wall. Finished in the hugely desirable colour combination of Nero over Nero leather, complemented by the polished iconic Telephone Dial OZ wheels.

Being a 5000QV, it benefits from a huge power increase over its predecessor, the LP 500S which produced just 370HP in comparison to 420HP in the QV. Also, being a 1988 car, its one of the very last examples of the 5000 QV before it was replaced by the rather radical 25th Anniversary and thus, comes with the Side Strake sills which were exclusive to 1988 models. The car comes from long term ownership and dry storage.

Truly one of the very best examples on the planet with such fantastic mileage and in such a desirable and even elegant specification, making for an astonishingly cool piece of equipment. Perfect for anyone who wants to finally fulfil a lifelong dream in owning The Poster Car, those looking for a Countach should look no further. Not to be missed!
