The 4.5 litre is an authentic homage of the charismatic cars that were developed for racing by Sir Henry Birkin and his team in the late 1920s.

Built in The Netherlands by a well renowned engineer with the guidance of internationally renowned Bob Petersen Engineering of Devon England. All of the components which are not new and are used in the car are completely reconditioned to the highest standards. Many of the fittings are made by Petersen Engineering: filler caps, stone guards, footplates, fuel tanks, radiators, wheels, hubs, bodies, trim, dashboards as well as many other smaller parts. These parts are so accurate and of such high quality that they are supplied regularly to Bentley Owners for their original cars by Petersen engineering.

Engine, 4.5 litres Bentley ‘Mk Vi/R’-Type, 6 cylinder fully rebuilt. Gearbox is a modified ‘R’-Type box with synchromesh bar the first gear. Body is built in the traditional Vanden Plas Le Mans style, with Ash frame, aluminium skin, fabric covered and supplied by Petersen Engineering.

Finished in British Racing Green with matching Green Wilton carpets and Connolly hide. Black double duck hood and tonneau cover, fitted toolbox. Dashboard is fitted with large aircraft-type instruments made especially for Petersen Engineering to the Birkin team car pattern and period illumination. Works were completed by late 2006 and then dispatched to its new lucky owner in Holland. Fast forward to 2014 the Bentley was acquired by it’s next owner and repatriated back to the UK, it was under this ownership that the car was sent to Hi Tech Motorsport in preparation for the 2016 Paris to Peking rally which the Bentley campaigned in and completed the mammoth 8,200 kilometres journey without incident. Testament indeed to the magnificent engineering featured in the build quality.

Since finishing the rally the Bentley has had a thorough recommissioning service carried out and it is now ready to conquer the world once again.
