During Mrs Brooks 8 year ownership of the car it was solely maintained by Aston Martin Lagonda limited, fast forward to 1998 AML were instructed to import the vehicle into the UK and make all preparations to road register for the mainland. Since 2015 the vehicle has been part of an exciting and extensive private collection and the car has been solely serviced by Works Service.

The ultimate Grand Tourer of the decade, the Lagonda is a combination of British hand built craftsmanship from start to finish over the period of seven months. Unparalleled design, flair, luxury and supercar performance to rival the ‘best of Moderna’. Behind the wheel the dashboard is totally unique with the fitment of vacuum fluorescents (VF) offering high tech visuals never seen before. The cockpit benefits with every conceivable luxury of its day: air conditioning, cruise control, four quartz-halogen headlights with twin spot lamps, fully electric driver and passenger seats, full tinted panoramic rear glass panel. At the heart of the car was the newly designed V585 Efi V8 power plant which was available also in the V8 Coupe and also Volante. Straight lane performance it covered a top speed in excess of 140MPH and 0-60MPH in less than 8 seconds for a vehicle north of 2 tonnes which made the Lagonda a very capable outside lane cruiser.

When production finished in 1990 these Series IV cars where £33,390.01 more expensive than its nearest rival the Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II and just under £20,000 more then the flag ship V8 Vantage X-Pack making the Lagonda the ‘King of the Road’. Production spanned over two decades from 1978 when unveiled to the world to 1990 when the final car ran off the Tickford Street production line with a grand total of 642 cars built worldwide in both left and right hand drive. This example being last of line IV Series benefits from a number of technical and cosmetic refreshments. Produced over a 3 year period where just 106 vehicles were built. This example is the 3rd from last and the only Rolls-Royce Royal Blue with Parchment car – making this truly a special opportunity.

Accompanied by its original book pack with factory supplied service booklet, Swaine Adeney fitted touring luggage – trimmed in dark blue to match the coachwork, tool role, fitted soft cover embossed Lagonda plus original press brochure on file – it does not get better than this!
