- Ultra rare Italian American grand tourer
- Hand built Carrozzeria Ghia coachwork over Dodge mechanicals
- Fewer than 100 examples believed produced
- Powered by the correct 315 cubic inch Dodge Poly V8 with automatic transmission
- Originally delivered to Austrian American painter Count Rudolf Anton Bernatschke
- Jet Age icon favoured by Hollywood elite
An exceptional fusion of American power and Italian craftsmanship, the Dual Ghia Convertible stands as one of the most glamorous and exclusive grand tourers of the Jet Age. Featuring dramatic hand built coachwork by Carrozzeria Ghia combined with proven Dodge V8 mechanicals, it offered concept car styling with real world usability. Production was extremely limited, with ownership reserved for a hand selected clientele chosen by Dual-Motors founder Eugene Casaroll.
This example, serial number 163, was originally delivered to Count Rudolf Anton Bernatschke and his wife, Cathalene. Bernatschke was a highly regarded portrait artist whose clientele included General Douglas MacArthur, United States senators, European royalty and Hollywood figures. His refined taste and appreciation for elegance are clearly reflected in his choice of the Dual Ghia.
The car originated from the Dodge Firearrow concept, a design nearly lost when Dodge elected not to proceed with production. Casaroll recognised its potential and brought it to life as the Dual Ghia, retaining dependable Dodge underpinnings beneath its Italian coachbuilt body.
Previously restored and finished in black with a light interior and contrasting convertible top, the car retains important original features including its engine turned instrument panel and original owner dash plaque. Powered by the correct 315 cubic inch Dodge Poly hemi head V8 paired with a two speed automatic transmission, it presents today as a charismatic and highly collectible example of one of the most desirable American Italian collaborations of the 1950s.
